Manager of Post-Production
Location: Kansas City, Missouri (On-site with some work-from-home available with supervisor’s approval)
Manager of Post-Production at Toast Wedding Films, Inc., Kansas City, Missouri.
Manage the entire post-production process of transforming raw wedding footage into captivating and memorable wedding video, overseeing the quality, style, and creative execution of wedding films with responsibility for managing tasks, deadlines, and media, as well as contributing to hands-on editing. Play a key role in shaping the artistic vision of our films while ensuring consistency and maintaining high production standards.
Duties include:

Manage and motivate a team of video editors, assigning tasks, setting goals, and ensuring the team's productivity and creativity.

Develop and maintain efficient post-production workflows and communicate with vendors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Review and approve all edited content to ensure it aligns with the company's creative vision and quality benchmarks and provide feedback to employees and/or vendors.

Review raw footage and provide constructive feedback to videographers, helping them identify mistakes and areas for improvement to enhance the overall quality of their footage.

Offer creative input to enhance the storytelling and emotional impact of wedding videos.

Organize and manage video assets, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and backup procedures.

Manage contractors to ensure data is stored and transferred properly.

Address and resolve any post-production challenges, technical issues, or client concerns.

Manage post-production budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing resource allocation for cost-effective outcomes.

Review editor profiles provided by the Recruitment team.

Train and mentor team members.

Make hiring decisions and facilitate on-boarding of selected editors and interns.

Support the professional growth of our internal team, fostering a collaborative and creative post-production environment.

Stay up-to-date with the latest post-production techniques and trends, and provide technical guidance to the team.

Supervise film and video editors.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Media, Film or closely related field.

24 months of experience in a video editing position within the wedding industry.

Personal portfolio of at least 75 edited wedding films.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong focus on Premiere Pro.

Expertise in editing, audio mixing, storytelling, and color grading/correction, working with various camera types and settings, as demonstrated through portfolio samples.

Ability to edit without compromising quality, consistently meeting tight deadlines while delivering polished and engaging content with speed and precision.

Skilled in identifying mistakes in raw footage and identifying visual, audio, and storytelling inconsistencies in final edits.

Supervisory experience that includes sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for the post-production department and managing a team of ten or more video editors.

Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end workflows for multi-camera projects.
