So You Hate Cake... What Do You Serve at Your Wedding?

So You Hate Cake... What Do You Serve at Your Wedding?

At your wedding, you can cut *anything* you want.

A wedding cake, a whoopie pie, a large beignet, whatever you enjoy most! If you are not a dessert person, cut a pizza, or wheel of cheese, or better yet, don't cut anything. It's your day. Do what you want and own it!

Here are a few of our favorite non-traditional things to cut at your wedding reception.

Pie

Perhaps the most similar in shape and design, many couples go with pie over cake. It's easy to cut, is generally agreeable to guests, and comes in so many flavors! Plus, this is an easy way to incorporate a special family member slash master baker and ask them to make the item you cut during the reception.

Donuts

Donuts are all the rage right now! With a big wedding cake, lots of cake often goes to waste. Coming individually sized by nature, donuts are an easy item for guests to grab and enjoy. Plus, they can still be decorated to match your colors and theme for the day.

Ice Cream Cake

A little messier than a standard cake, ice cream cake can be a fun and unexpected way to cut the cake at your wedding. Just be sure your caterer or venue keeps it in the freezer until the last minute!

Cheese Cake

Coming in thousands of flavors (the Cheesecake factory alone has what, 30+ flavors?) serving guests an assortment of cheesecake can allow you to serve guests with a variety of preferences. The only downside is not everyone likes cheesecake, so you might want to consider offering a non-dairy option.

A Literal Cake of Cheese

Yes, it's a thing! Google "wedding cake made of cheese" and peek the cheesy goodness. If you're a hardcore cheese lover, this is the stuff of dreams!

Don't let tradition hold you back from cutting into the wedding dessert of your dreams. Using one of these alternatives, or even one of your own will ensure you have a wedding fit to your taste- quite literally.
