To Trolley or Not to Trolley: Why Wedding Transportation Matters

What would be the worst thing to happen on a wedding day?

Someone not showing up, right? We know, we know, just the thought of that makes us cringe too!

Well, what if your officiant, or photographer, or a person of honor didn't show up? That happens by accident more times than you'd think!

For many couples, the wedding day includes multiple locations. Going to and from all those places leaves lots of opportunities for something to go awry. Someone could get stuck in traffic, not be able to find parking or just take a wrong turn. All those things can mess up your timeline or even worse, result in someone not getting to where they need to be!

The solution to the problem is simple, have all your important people travel together on as few a number of vehicles as possible. For most couples, this includes you and your fiance or spouse, your wedding parties, as well as your photographer(s) and videographer(s). Depending on your unique day this could also include your immediate family members, parents, or officiant.

Whether it's a giant trolley for everyone, 1 trolley for the wedding parties + a separate car for you and your fiance, or any other combination of vehicles, do what you've got to do to get everyone where they need to be. 30 people in 1 trolley stuck in traffic is better than 30 people in 12 different cars all stuck at different points in traffic. In this instance, fewer is better.

Pro Tip: Think about special events! If you're getting married in a highly-populated area, check the cities calendar of events. If your wedding falls on a major holiday, parade day, festival, street fair, or another community event, be sure to allow extra travel time between locations and warn guests ahead of time to expect travel delays.
